New support form

There's a brand new support form and we need people to beta test it to see if it blows up in interesting ways!
https://panel6.dreamhost.com/?tree=support.msg
Firefox 1.5 or higher, Internet Explorer 7, or Safari recommended. IE6 will work but it will look a little goofy in spots!
There's also a new section to the support panel, called Account Tests.. where you can view the results of your most recent account test, and schedule a new one (if it's been more than an hour since your last.) This new account test system tries to look for interesting things about your account that might cause problems with your service. It's still young, and occasionally produces false positives, and is for informational purposes only at this point. Please feel free to report any false positives if you'd like to help us improve our new account test system.
Comments, suggestions, and bug reports are welcome! If you report a bug, make sure to include your browser, version, and operating system.

I'd like it better if the final form confirmed my selections from the previous pages.
I picked which website was giving me problems but there's no indication of this on the last page - "relevant url" is blank. I picked "email setup" as my category but there's no confirmation of this on the last page either.
BTW, am I only supposed to send real issues with this or am I supposed to send various test messages?

Hmm, a good point. I'm going to let that brew for a bit.
Only submit real tickets you want answered, or withdraw your ticket after you submit it, if you submit a fake one (reload the support form to see your ticket listing once you've submitted one.)

I like the new support form. Very intuitive.
As far as the account tests go, I did get some goofy "errors". Here's what I got: Recent DNS changes may not have fully propagated yet. help Recent DNS changes may not have fully propagated yet. help Recent DNS changes may not have fully propagated yet. help Your website took longer than 5 seconds to respond. help Your website does not appear in the Apache configuration file. help Recent DNS changes may not have fully propagated yet. help
I assume that the test saw a few changes submitted to the panel that it thought didn't take affect yet, but there's two problems. I don't know which domains it's referring to - in any of the several errors, and the other problem is that I haven't made any changes in the last week.
Aside from that... well it has the allure of great possibilities!

Hmm, yes, the test section is definitely going to need some work. I appreciate the feedback and I'm going to be looking into why we get some of these false positives.
Thanks!

culligan Your web server has been rebooted in the last week. This shouldn't be an error.
mail service for kyl191.net You are using a non-DreamHost MX record. Not an error.
mail service for user kyl191 on spaceymail-master Your email address's POP3 password is misconfigured. Offsite email w/ custom MX record. Still, it is something wrong. (i.e. real error)
http service for ****.kyl191.net Your website does not appear in the Apache configuration file. Quite sure it *does*, I can access it.
http service for kyl191.net Your website does not appear in the Apache configuration file. Ditto.
http service for ***********.kyl191.net Your website does not appear in the Apache configuration file. Again, ditto.
http service for ******.kyl191.net Your website does not appear in the Apache configuration file. Ditto.
http service for ******.kyl191.net We could not test your site because it requires username and password authentication. This error is appearing twice. And it was tested. (See above.)
http service for ******.kyl191.net We could not test your site because it requires username and password authentication. See above.
http service for ***************.kyl191.net Your website does not appear in the Apache configuration file. This is actually a CNAME record pointing offsite, so it shouldn't have an Apache configuration file.
(Edited for clarity, and subdomains removed.)

I'm getting /tons/ of these types of errors as well. I host most of my email elsewhere, as well as http services. They're not errors.
I'm also getting a jabber error "no config file" or similar. I deleted my jabber services a long time ago. Still have that damn folder in my homedir, though.
Nice feature though, I can see this being very helpful to the less technologically inclined.

Hmm.. Thank you for the reports. I'm compiling these for ideas on how to improve the account testing system. Apache config file tests seem to be hitting a lot of false positives for some reason.
I may have to make a separate class called "notices" -- things that are not necessarily errors but that could be important to our tech support department (such as foreign MX or DNS.)
Thanks for the feedback!

Has this been fully tested yet? I'm not sure if these results are very valid... although the panel is giving me DNS grief, as in... my DNS control is completely broken. And its not my fault, I swear 8-)

In reply to:

I am seeing a similar 'password misconfigured' message for one of my mailboxes. Strangely enough, the mailbox seems to be working fine.

This whole form is obviously live now, but I thought I'd make a final reply here.
Thanks for all your reports -- all of the bugs with the test system have been located and fixed, thanks in part to your feedback here. We're still working on it, smoothing out the wrinkles, but so far this system is working well to help get our techs the information they need to solve your problems more readily!
